“Tenkaippin” Kitashirakawa Total main shop:天下一品 北白川総本店
A ramen specialty store established in 1971. It is a major ramen chain store with more than 240 stores nationwide (as of February 2, 2017). It is the “Tenka Ippin Main Store”.
The founder is Tsutomu Kimura. In 1971, a company that worked for 15 years at the age of 36 went bankrupt and began serving ramen in Kyoto. Yatai Ramen, which started with a mere 37,000 yen, had only 11 cups of sales on the first day.
Most of the stalls at that time were based on soy sauce. Kimura, who thought that the customers would not come with the same food, tried various soups and researched the soup. Four years later, the secret soup was finally born. Forty years later, Tenka Ippin was a big hit and has grown into a major ramen chain with enthusiastic fans all over Japan.
Speaking of one dish in the world, it’s “Kotteri”! There is soy sauce-based “light”, but it is generally heavy. Stewed chicken and vegetables with a unique balance and technique, it is a drunk and highly addictive soup like a potage soup.
Especially popular is the “fried rice set meal”, the rich ramen creamy soup and fried rice combination.
